Thieves steal money from shattered showcase in Chinese store on Lincoln Street in Palermo

Another theft by the smash-and-grab gang in Palermo. The criminals struck again in the night on Lincoln Street, in the section closest to the central station: around 4 am they broke the glass entrance of a shop run by a Chinese merchant and ransacked the premises. The thieves stole a security box kept on a counter containing the cash from sales, and then fled. The loot amounted to about a thousand euros.

When the alarm was raised, the carabinieri arrived at the scene, carried out investigations, and started working to identify the culprits. The surveillance cameras in the area are being analyzed, as they may have captured the gang in action once again in the city.

Just a few days ago, a bar in Altarello was targeted. The window was smashed at the “Caffè Portello”, where the entrance door was also forced open. The criminals then tampered with the slot machines and money exchange machines.

On June 2nd, another theft occurred: two individuals struck on Sampolo Street. The two thieves were caught on camera outside the establishment where the theft took place, the “Na mamà” rotisserie. They first shattered the window and then took the cash register. As the owner reported to the police, there was only forty euros in the cash register.
