Theater: among pots and pans, in search of power

(ANSA) – PALERMO, NOVEMBER 25 – The shows of the 55th international season of the Teatro Libero in Palermo continue, entitled Mutamenti. On 25 and 26 November at 9.15 pm, Macbeth/Banquet will be staged, a show based on Shakespeare with Luca Radaelli and Maurizio Aliffi, directed by Paola Manfredi, a Teatro Invito production, Lecco.

The story is set in a poor kitchen inside the castle in Inverness where, among pots and pans, it will tell of how the lust for power can lead to ruin, on a not too slow fire. This environment recalls the popular places often chosen by Shakespeare for pivotal scenes, a place where dark dishes and cruel machinations are cooked.

The scenography is made up of pots, crockery, knives, kitchen tools, in a rough setting where the actions allude to the preparation of the banquet in which Banquo’s ghost will appear. A “home” banquet for a murder perpetrated entirely in the family, in which the protagonist’s ambitions will vanish in a cloud of steam. .
