Important Asian showcase forUniversity of Catania which in recent days has participated in the first virtual fair UniSmartItaly in Vietnam promoted by the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities in collaboration with the Foreign Trade Institute.
The objective of the participation in Catania, present together with other 22 Italian universities from 16 to 24 April, was to promote the Italian system by combining training offer and productive fabric, and at the same time to promote student mobility and relations between universities and businesses between the two countries.
The Catania university took part in thematic webinars on the themes of the Environment with the interventions of the professors Cristina Satriano of the Department of Chemical Sciences and Daniele La Rosa of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, referents of the Erasmus + KA2 projects in progress with universities and research centers in Vietnam and Communication and Languages with Prof. Rosaria Sardo of the Department of Humanities.
On 21 April, the educational offer, services for international students, international relations and synergies with the territory and with companies were presented. Representing the university were the delegates for Internationalization Francesca Longo and Lucia Zappalà, the representatives of the Erasmus + KA2 projects underway with universities and research centers in Vietnam, the representatives of the international students and cultural mediation service, Dr. Erika Magnano and Maria Sanfilippo, and the delegate for technology transfer and business relations in the bio-medical field, prof. Filippo Caraci.
Representatives of five companies with a strong international dimension and with which the University has long collaborated: A4x (Dr. Francesco Cosentino), Bionap (Dr. Andrea Bonina), Enel Green Power (Dr. Andrea Canino) also took part. ), Parmalat (Dr. Lara Monaco), STMicrolectronics (Dr. Ampelio Corrado Ventura).
The protagonists of the “fair” were also the students of the University of Catania Pham Thi Dieu Trang and Nguyen Thi Thao Vy (international master’s degree course in Physics) and Thai Than Pham (master’s degree course in corporate finance) who gave testimony of their path of life and studies in the Catania university. And again the alumni of the Tran Ngoc Diep High School of Catania, doctors Do Minh Phuong, currently English teacher and tour operator in Hanoi, Voduy Long, currently deputy director of the Department of GastroIntestinal Surgery at the University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City and Tran Thi Khanh Van, now head of the Interpreting and Translation Section – Department of Italian Studies – University of Hanoi.
