For two years, the city of Palermo in its traditional form, for this reason the idea of ​​the 398th Festino di Santa Rosalia is that the overcoming of the pandemic is celebrated in music.

Thursday 14th July a “set” of musical scores accompanies the whole procession also parading on the Triumphal Chariot, a saving symphony that sweeps away two years of heaviness, in the hope that the whole world will meet again and put aside the disagreements, the winds of new disasters, of new wars and new and old plagues.

Here is the detail path of the Chariot and the program with the description of each station.

First Station – Royal Palace – Porta Nuova

The procession of angels who fought against the pandemic leaves the Royal Palace and positions itself in front of the Chariot.
A voice from the portico of Porta Nuova sings a carter’s song at the end of which the Cart starts to the sound of the Tamburinai.

Second station – Archiepiscopal Curia

The Cardinal gets on the Chariot to bless the Statue, at the moment of the blessing the Chariot comes alive musically and lights up, the Saint begins to rotate on its base.
The chariot proceeds preceded by doctors, health workers, civil protection and law enforcement

Third Station – Cathedral

A very young voice from the Triumphal Chariot sings a song / call that starts the Children’s Choir of the Teatro Massimo and Kids Orchestra.

A video projection on the facade of the Cathedral and a lighting system accompany the music.

Second part: At the height of the Church of Santa Maria della Catena on the Triumphal Chariot a female voice begins to recite a lament for the plagued city while a section of six angelic voices supports it with its song.
Proceeding slowly the chariot advances while everything around the city darkens.

Sixth station – Walls of the Bad

The Chariot slows down, stopping only for a short moment in front of the Porta Felice, while the Youth Orchestra of the Teatro Massimo, on the steps of the promenade of the Bad, plays a dark piece of music that cadence slow pace, even the lights are dimmed and the Chariot is getting ready to cross the door.

Seventh station – Porta Felice

The Carro crosses Porta Felice and as it passes under the illumination the music changes register, the Youth orchestra plays a song of great opening and the Brass Marching Street Band improvises by responding with their instruments, then past the Porta while the procession starts, it plays a cheerful and festive Dixieland music accompanying the Chariot to the Marina and leading it to the temple of music.

Eighth station – Palchetto della Musica

The Triumphal Cart stops in the middle of the road.
A narrator thanks all the attendees and calls people to thank all the musicians by inviting the bands to play a final song.
The fireworks will start at midnight wherever the Chariot has arrived and will end the festivities.

Ninth station – Porta dei Greci

At the end of the fires the chariot proceeds lit to be positioned in the clearing outside the walls of Porta dei Greci in Piazza Kalsa awaiting the celebrations of September 4th.
