The Region: “We will be at the side of companies that invest in the excellence of Sicily”

The fourth edition of Spumanti dell’Etna ended in Catania, an opportunity to promote one of the Sicilian excellences.

The morning session was characterized by the in-depth masterclass “Don’t call them rosé” at Palazzo Scammacca, conducted by Francesco Chittari, professor at the Italian Sommelier Foundation. Protagonists are the Etna companies that are characterized by the production of rosé sparkling wines from Etna.

In the afternoon, great success for the talk/tasting «Bubbles as a discovery of territories», during which the essential elements of a good wine tourism proposal were highlighted. Great importance has been attributed to the stories, the chronicle and the narration of what characterizes the visit to the cellar. Through photos of landscapes and the blind tasting of some labels, the different organoleptic characteristics and the climatic and environmental aspects of the places of production emerged.

In the evening the event concluded in Palazzo Biscari, a precious testimony of the Sicilian Baroque, where there was the presence of rich tasting stalls with numerous and prestigious Etna companies that produce classic method sparkling wines in various variations.

Great participation of the Sicilian chefs who proposed a gastronomic itinerary with eighteen different gourmet dishes cooked ad hoc for the occasion and in perfect combination with the sparkling wine labels present for tasting.
