The Municipal Council of Favara has a female president for the first time: Miriam Mignemi has been elected

At the second vote and second day of the City Council, after very tight discussions and not a few internal clashes in the center-right, the City Council of Favara voted the first female president.

This is Miriam Mignemi, elected in the ranks of # DiventeràBellissima, a party that at the last administrative offices supported the candidacy of Salvatore Montaperto, mayor defeated in the ballot and in turn candidate for the presidency of the municipal council. If yesterday the vote ended with a 12 to 12, today it was a blank ballot that brought the result to 12 to 11 for Mignemi. Ignazio Sorce, of Azzurri for Favara, was elected vice president. After the election of Mignemi followed the oath of the mayor Antonio Palumbo and a first speech to the city council. The new mayor urged everyone to overcome divisions and work for the good of the country. The first sparks were not lacking, with Montaperto, visibly disappointed with the result, who accused the administration of having created a new majority in the classroom. The reply by Palumbo and the councilor Dc Gerlando Nobile lasts.
