Maurizio Impellizzeri, the 59-year-old farmer from Troina, will remain in prison. He was arrested on July 20th for shooting and killing his ex-wife, Mariella Marino, 56, outside a supermarket in Troina. The decision to keep him in custody was made by the Gip of Enna, who validated his arrest and issued a detention order. During the guarantee interrogation, Impellizzeri chose not to answer any questions. Today, an autopsy on the victim will be performed in Catania by forensic doctor Giuseppe Ragazzi, appointed by the Enna Prosecutor’s Office, which is leading the investigation. The victim had separated from her husband about a year ago and had also reported him for stalking. She was shot three times, with the last shot possibly being fatal, as she tried to seek refuge in a nearby house. The murder weapon, a pistol with the serial number removed, was found by the Carabinieri in Impellizzeri’s house, where he had returned after the crime.
