This was stated by Agatino Carrolo, commander of the Palermo fire brigade who today greeted the city to reach the provincial command of Turin.

“We have implemented the rescue activity with specific Covid procedures that had the function of protecting personnel during the rescue activity”. When asked what was the most intense professional moment in Palermo, Carrolo says: “The forest fire campaign”. “We worked day and night upgrading the rescue device,” he says. In particular, “I remember the fire in Altofonte and also the flood”, in addition to the “pandemic experience that allowed me to grow professionally and gave me the opportunity to be close to those who suffer”. The firefighters have in fact distributed “500 food parcels to the people” from Brancaccio to Zen, to Sperone.

“People – explains Carrolo – who had the humility to ask. I tried to assure everyone of my commitment and the most complete availability in full respect of the institutional role.
