The fire decimated his flock in Caltabellotta, so his friends started a fundraising campaign.

On July 19th, Paolo Marsala, an agricultural entrepreneur from Caltabellotta (Agrigento), lost his entire flock of sheep, which were charred in a fire that also destroyed his crops, causing him significant economic damage. His lifelong friends have decided to help him. They have organized a fundraising campaign online through the platform Gofundme to try to support him during this difficult recovery period. The goal they hope to achieve is 30,000 euros, of which just over half has been raised so far. “Paolo is an honest and hardworking person, he deserves our support,” says Salvatore Roncone, a lawyer and friend of the entrepreneur. Meanwhile, the Sciacca prosecutor’s office, based on a report from the forestry department, has determined that the fire on July 19th in Caltabellotta was intentional. The flames destroyed nearly 200 hectares of land, including the 180 sheep owned by Paolo Marsala that were caught in the fire.
