There are many areas in the outskirts of Palermo that are engulfed in flames. A fire has also broken out in the Inserra mountain area, which overlooks the ring road of Palermo. The fire is around Monte Bianco street, a road that winds along the hillside. There are many villas in that area, and like in Mondello, families have had to evacuate their homes.
