Realize in Italy and abroad thematic projects of historical-cultural scope on the figure of the great emperor, known as Stupor Mundi.
The Federico II Study Center based in Palermo and with representative offices in Rome, New York and Bordeaux.

An initiative strongly desired by the president Giuseppe Di Francoafter the success obtained with the realization, in December 2021, of the first edition of the “Federico II International Award” promoted by Solunto Foundation and Maison France-Italie, two cultural institutions that have been working for three years in the drafting of cultural and socio-cultural projects of high level made in Italy and abroad.

The first international appointment is scheduled in Rome on May 30 this year, with a conference dedicated to Frederick II, in the Sala Zuccari of Palazzo Giustiniani, seat of the Presidency of the Senate, where for the occasion the Prize will be awarded to personalities of the highest level.

The study center dedicated to Frederick II has already established the contact persons in the representative offices in Italy and abroad: in Rome the connection point is the journalist and parliamentarian Mario Nanniin New York the referents are the knight and journalist Josephine Buscaglia Maiettapresident of the AIAE, (Association Italian American Educators) e Stefano Vaccarajournalist and editor-in-chief of the newspaper “La Voce di New York” as well as professor of journalism at Lehman College, Cuny.

And then again in France, in Bordeaux, the composer and conductor is present Maria Luisa Macellaro La Franca.
Furthermore, the scientific technical committee of the Federico II Study Center is composed, also by Goffredo Palmerini, international writer and journalist, Diego Cannizzarocomposer and teacher, Pietro Luigi MattaVice President of the Free University of Politics and from Fabrizio Tiganofull professor of Administrative Law at the University of Messina.

In 2022, the dominant theme of the program is “Cultural diplomacy for an international dimension of culture, for a policy of development and cooperation between European countries”.

The study center will carry out some projects in synergy with the “Solunto Foundation” and in collaboration with “Maison France – Italie”.
Among these, a conference dedicated to Frederick II entitled: “Puer apulia, stupor mundi”, scheduled in Rome on 30 May 2022 at 9.30 in the Sala Zuccari of Palazzo Giustiniani, seat of the Presidency of the Senate of the Republic.
On this occasion three distinguished speakers of international level will intervene and with a first ceremony of delivery of the Federico II International Prize.

A bilateral socio-cultural Italy-USA meeting is then planned in New York at the Italian Cultural Institute, which includes a visit to the UN in the period between May and June, with a date to be defined, to be carried out in the presence of the US authorities.

On this occasion the Federico II trophy will be awarded to Fabio Finotti (Director of the Italian Cultural Institute), and to other personalities.

A bilateral Italy-France meeting is also scheduled, which will be held in Bordeaux on June 19, integrated by the international project “Classique & Federico II International Award”, carried out at the Basilica Église Notre-Dame with the delivery of honors and the Federico II Award to French and Italian-French personalities, including the vice president of the French Senate Nathalie Delattre.

Finally, another socio-cultural bilateral meeting will be held in Slovakia, in Bratislava in September.
The initiatives mentioned are part of the cultural platform “European Culture Vision 2032” of which the president Giuseppe Di Franco is the international coordinator, a ten-year program of socio-cultural projects in European capitals, with a strategic, systemic and future-oriented thinking.
