The island of Panarea is surrounded by mega yachts. The latest arrival is Atlantis II, the 115-meter mega yacht owned by the Niarchos family, one of the largest private yachts in the world. It was built by Greek tycoon Stavros Spyros Niarchos to compete with Onassis’ Cristina O. Atlantis measures 99 meters in length.
Stavros Spyros Niarchos, a shipowner and art collector, was one of the prominent figures in European high society during the 20th century. He owned a significant fleet of merchant ships, six yachts, and a racehorse stable. His art collection included paintings by French Impressionists such as Degas and Renoir. He also acquired a Pietà by El Greco, which he renamed Pietà Niarchos. Niarchos was married five times, had numerous relationships, and passed away in Switzerland in 1996, leaving behind a fortune worth 5 billion dollars. As part of his legacy, he bequeathed the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center to the Greek and European cultural world. Designed by Renzo Piano and built in Athens by Impregilo Costruzioni, it is a modern architectural gem and a hub for art and culture.
The yacht Atlantis II was built in the shipyards of Scaramanga, between Piraeus and Athens, and it was designed by architect Maierform. It has a mechanical system powered by two 4,800 horsepower engines and a crew of 17 for 24 passengers.

Testa slipped on social media, stating, “The richest neck in the world.” Bezos and his friends, who are accompanying the two 600 million euro mega yachts, come and go from the Aeolian Islands.
