Termini industrial area: two projects removed from work list
Explain in brief the following article
Verify the implementation of the program agreement for the revival of the industrial area of Termini Imerese which foresees an investment of about 150 million euros. This is the objective of the technical committee that met at the regional office of Productive Activities, in Via degli Emiri, in Palermo. During the meeting, the Municipality of Termini Imerese requested not to proceed with the realization of two works that were initially planned, namely access to the port on the north side and the road connection Asi with access to the new port.
“The meeting – said the regional assessor for Productive Activities, Edy Tamajo – highlighted that some projects are now far from the real infrastructure needs of the territory. We therefore welcomed the mayor Maria Terranova’s request on the two works, considered obsolete due to the new strategic planning document of the Port Authority of the Western Sicilian Sea system. The mayor also expressed the intention to transfer the resources saved to the construction of State Road 113 which goes from Trabia to the port.”
The program agreement, signed in 2011 by the Sicilian Region with the Municipality of Termini Imerese and other entities, provides for a series of interventions to favor productive revival and the development of entrepreneurial initiatives in the industrial area.
“Many works, such as lighting systems, laying of fiber optics, and urbanization works – concluded the assessor – have been completed thanks mainly to the commitment of Irsap. It is my intention, in synergy with the interested territories, to update the plan and accelerate the ongoing and finalizing works to achieve completion in a short time. Once again, we find ourselves looking for solutions that concern agreements over a decade ago.”
The next meeting is scheduled for April 15, at 10 am, always in the offices of the regional office of Productive Activities.
