Termini Imerese: 35-year-old man arrested for illegal firearm possession and evasion

The Carabinieri of the territorial unit of Termini Imerese carried out an order for the application of house arrest with an electronic bracelet, issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the court of Termini Imerese, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, against a 35-year-old man, already known to the police, for illegal possession and carrying of a clandestine weapon and evasion. The investigative activity was carried out by the military of the operational section of the Mobile Radio Nucleus of Termini Imerese and the station of Trabia, which reconstructed the events that occurred on the night between 6 and 7 September last, when the suspect, subject to house arrest, received news of a violent verbal and physical clash involving his brother in a square in Trabia and, without hesitation, left his home to go to the scene of the dispute with the aim of taking justice into his own hands. According to the investigators, the man allegedly fired several shots from a firearm at some of the people involved in the dispute, who managed to escape the ambush by fleeing in a car. The investigative action initiated by the Carabinieri immediately after the events, developed quickly and effectively through a careful inspection of the area affected by the criminal event, as well as by integrating surveillance camera images with some testimonies, allowed the investigators to acquire important elements that led to the identification of the alleged perpetrator of the attack, who was subsequently reported to the judicial authority, which then issued the measure.
