The season in the Sparco Italian Rally Championship continues for the very young talent from Nisseno Giovanni Lanzalaco, who, paired with the now tested navigator Antonio Marchica, will challenge the time trial between the curves of the difficult and demanding course of the “Cursa”, the legendary Targa Florio. The 105th edition of the race this year is also part of the R1 Clio Trophy Italia calendar, which sees a parterre of many Italian and non-Italian drivers, including driver Lanzalaco. Currently in second absolute position in the trophy, after the first race of the season (the Sanremo Rally held in April), “Giovanni”, aboard his Clio Trophy Class R1 of the Tuscan factory NDM Tecno, will try to repeat the success in the ” its ”home streets.
These are his post-race statements in Sanremo: “Racing such an important rally for a young man like me was a truly unique emotion. The race took place in really extreme conditions with unpredictable weather conditions, but, despite this, thanks to the great work of my navigator Antonio, who always manages to better manage even the most critical situations and the team that manages my car, we have brought home a terrific result. We also won a test, demonstrating that the feeling with the car is there and the desire to do even more well. The Targa Florio, being the “home race”, will give that extra incentive to do even better; I expect a good result, I want to give my best, increase my knowledge of the car and gain experience in such an important championship as CIR Sparco ”.
The car is truly phenomenal, a 180 horsepower 1.3 Turbo with sequential gearbox that is truly a great racing car. A special thanks I must do to those who this year are supporting me and in detail: Elle Trasporti srl, Karmat Auto Srl, Delirio Motorsport and my Scuderia Ateneo. Appointment with the authorized reconnaissance on Thursday 6 May with the race that will go live on Friday 7 May, with the Shakedown in the morning and the Power Stage which will take place in the same afternoon on the hairpin bends of Sclafani Bagni.
