A large palm tree collapsed overnight onto the roof of the Casa del Cinema, a property owned by the Municipality. The Municipality had recently revoked the conferment to the “Fondazione Taormina Arte”. Immediate checks and interventions were carried out on the scene yesterday morning. The focus was to assess the damages caused by the tree’s collapse and to remove the trunk and crown from the roof. The hotel’s management promptly took action to restore the property, and preliminary inspections suggest that there were no significant damages to the roof structure.
