Corpus domini procession

The young foreigner, who arrived a few meters from the staircase, was stopped by the agents trying to resist and shouting “you don’t know who I am”

Moments of tension last night in front of the Pantheon, where a man would have come too close, screaming and threateningly, to the archbishop of Syracuse, Monsignor Francesco Lomanto, who was speaking to the faithful at the end of the Corpus domini procession, which started from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Tears.

The young foreigner, who arrived a few meters from the staircase, after uttering a few sentences in a threatening tone was stopped by the police officers present on the spot, trying to resist and shouting “you don’t know who I am”.

The policemen then handcuffed him and took him to one of the service cars and then to the police station to be identified and to clarify his intentions, while the archbishop, once order was restored, was able to continue the homily.
