SYRACUSE – The Prosecutor’s Office of Syracuse has opened an investigation into road murder after the accident that took place this morning shortly after 2 am on the Syracuse – Catania motorway, near the Augusta (Syracuse) junction.
Two victims: Giuseppe Armenio, 19, and Gabriel Fazio, 22, both from Augusta.
The two young people were on board a BMW car, driven by a thirty-year-old who is hospitalized in a reserved prognosis at the Muscatello hospital in Augusta.
The traffic police carried out surveys of what appears to be an autonomous accident.
The BMW was traveling towards Catania, when for reasons to be ascertained it skidded, overturned and finished its run over the guard-rail.
The attempts of the rescuers were useless.
There will be no autopsy and the funeral will be held Monday at 4.30 pm in the church of Santa Lucia, in Augusta.
