The Etna Observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv), at around 5:38 today, recorded the beginning of activity on Stromboli. A Sciara del Fuoco can be seen from the volcano, visible from the cameras and seismic trace at the Istr station. From a seismic point of view, at the current state, the amplitude of volcanic tremor is at high levels, thus raising interest among experts.
There are no significant variations reported in the rate of occurrence and in what is called the amplitude of explosion quakes. The signals from the networks at this time do not show significant variations.
The Sciara del Fuoco runs along the northern flank of the island and is bounded by two ridges. With its incessant activity, it continues to be one of the main tourist attractions of the island.
