Spectacular eruptions on Mount Etna: loud booms, ash on Milo and Zafferana Etnea

After the lava overflow and an increase in tremors, there is now an eruptive phase with spectacular eruptions on Mount Etna, including lava fountains. The regional civil protection agency reports data from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Etna Observatory, indicating that the paroxysmal activity is occurring from the Southeast crater, with ash falling on Milo. This new phase of eruption, which began two days ago, is also causing ash to fall on Zafferana Etnea. The volcanic tremor has further increased and the infrasound signal amplitude has also increased. Videos and photos are being shared on social media from the province of Catania. The dispersion of volcanic ash is the most noticeable aspect of the increased activity, accompanied by loud rumbling noises.
