Siracusa man attempts to board train without ticket, attacks police officers, gets detained with taser

The State Police arrested a 34-year-old Tunisian man for the crimes of violence, threat, resistance to a public official, personal injury, and disruption of public service. The police intervened at the Syracuse train station following a report from railway personnel, who were forced to delay the departure of the Syracuse-Rome train due to the presence of a Tunisian man without a ticket who refused to get off. The man’s state of agitation, which led him to try to kick and punch the police officers, required the use of a taser to calm him down and get him off the train, which departed with a delay of 16 minutes. The police chief ordered the expulsion of the Tunisian man, who had illegally entered Italy, and he must leave the country within 7 days.
