Siracusa man arrested for fatal scooter accident: charged with vehicular manslaughter

On August 2nd, a 23-year-old man collided with an 82-year-old elderly person while riding a scooter in Syracuse, Italy. The elderly person later died in the hospital due to the injuries sustained. The Syracuse mobile squad arrested the young man and placed him under house arrest for involuntary manslaughter. The incident occurred on Viale Santa Panagia, in the northern area of Syracuse. After hitting the elderly person, the young man helped him and he was then transferred to the emergency room of the hospital, where he passed away the following day.
