Sicily: end-of-year Schifani junta, lots of irons in the fire

(ANSA) – PALERMO, DECEMBER 29 – There is so much iron on the fire for the end-of-year council that the president of the Region, Renato Schifani, has decided to meet at Palazzo d’Orleans at noon. The Councilor for Health, Giovanna Volo, will bring four weighty proposals: the appointment of commissioners in the companies and bodies of the regional health service, the public notice of selection for the assignment of general manager positions in ASPs and hospitals, the return to ordinary management “following the cessation of the state of emergency from Covid19” with the extension of staff and the modification of the interventions envisaged in the regional operational plan attached to the institutional development contract for Pnrr funds.

Three other crucial points will be put on the table by the Councilor for the Economy, Marco Falcone, who has decided to re-launch the “litigation” opened with the Court of Auditors, proposing to the junta to challenge before the Constitutional Court the device with which the accounting judges suspended the judgment of equalization of the Region’s financial statements for the 2020 financial year; the cards to the Consulta have already been sent by the Court of Auditors, deeming the spread over ten years of the deficit, equal to 2.2 billion, made by the former Musumeci government, to be illegitimate. Two other provisions bear Falcone’s signature: the bill authorizing provisional exercise for a month and the modification of the last resolution for the 2014-2020 development and cohesion plan (FSC). .
