Holidays by the sea are suitable for the whole family, including four-legged friends.
To remember it in view of the World Dog Day of August 26 is Spiagge.it, the reference portal in Italy for the booking of umbrellas and the management of bathing establishments, which in the last year has seen growth, up to 25 per one hundred of the total beaches on the platform, the number of lidos that allow access to dogs or offer additional services dedicated to pets.
Among these there is also Sicily which, according to the portal, has 35 pet-friendly beaches.
Of these not even one is in Catania, where however some timid attempts begin to be glimpsed, for example, in the free beaches of Viale Kennedy, at the Playa.

To seem more equipped with beaches assisted by the service are, however, Taormina and many areas of the Trapani area.
Among the regions of the boot, the queen of pet-friendly holidays is Emilia-Romagna, where almost 30 percent of Italian establishments are concentrated – bookable on Spiagge.it – ​​which also welcome four-legged friends and offer basic services such as the supply of bowls and the possibility of using vaporizers and drinking fountains.
Flanking her on the podium are Lazio and Tuscany (both at 10%), followed by Puglia, Campania, Liguria, Calabria, Abruzzo, Sicily and Marche.

As for the additional services for the welfare and entertainment of animals, Emilia-Romagna is once again at the top of the ranking with the largest number of pet-friendly establishments that also offer extra services such as relaxation areas for recreation and play, swimming pools, dog sitting services, health checks and veterinary assistance, educational consultancy and mobility or water approaches.
Followed by Tuscany, Liguria and Puglia.
