Ship stranded in Rometta, recovery operations underway

This morning, operations were launched, coordinated by the coast guard, to dislodge the motor ship Lider Prestij, which ran aground yesterday on the coast of Rometta Marea, near Milazzo, in Messina. The operations are being carried out with the use of two tugboats, ensuring total safety and without compromising the marine ecosystem. The activity was preceded by the intervention on board by personnel from the Coast Guard inspection unit, who, together with Rina and the technical-nautical services of the Maritime Department of Milazzo, evaluated the situation of the ship and planned the various necessary phases for the disengagement. Several aeronaval assets of the Coast Guard are present for assistance, including an AW139 helicopter “Nemo 8” and the ship Dattilo, as well as divers from the sub-unit of Messina.
