Seizures in 4 Palermo province towns: from cosmetics to electric cables, toys to Halloween decorations

The military members of the Palermo provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza have seized 183,712 non-compliant accessories and products during four separate control activities. The inspections took place in shops in Campofelice di Roccella, Bagheria, Cefalù, and Lercara Friddi. The soldiers, belonging to the Termini Imerese group, the Bagheria company, the Cefalù unit, and the Corleone unit, found products that did not comply with the trading regulations imposed by the European Union. The traders were fined over €110,000 and reported to the Chamber of Commerce for further action. The seized merchandise included personal products, household items, electrical materials, toys, and Halloween and Christmas decorations. These products were found to not display the required information in Italian, such as origin, manufacturer/importer, instructions, precautions, and usage. Additionally, they lacked the CE mark, which indicates compliance with EU safety standards.
