Scordia mourns Enrico’s death in an accident: “A good and humble young man”.

Enrico Mariani, a mechanic from Scordia, Catania, tragically lost his life in a violent collision while test riding a Honda 600 motorcycle. The impact threw him off the bike and he fell approximately seven meters under a bridge. The accident occurred on provincial road 28, in front of a heavy vehicle car wash. Mariani, who leaves behind his wife and young daughter, had just finished working on the motorcycle when the unexpected happened. The news has left the Scordia community devastated, as Mariani was well-known for his work. Messages of condolence have poured in from both Scordia and Militello in Val di Catania, where Mariani was also known. The citizens of both towns are united in grief over the loss of such a kind-hearted and hardworking young man. Another incident occurred in Scordia the previous day, involving a carabinieri vehicle and an elderly driver of a Fiat Panda. One of the military personnel was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but their condition is not serious.
