Scooter and car collide in Palermo’s Piazza Leoni: 30-year-old in serious condition

A serious road accident occurred in Palermo yesterday evening, Wednesday, November 14th, in Piazza Leoni. An scooter and a car were involved in the crash, and the man riding the scooter was seriously injured. According to the municipal police reconstruction, a 41-year-old man was driving a Hyundai towards the stadium, while a thirty-year-old man on a Liberty scooter had arrived in Piazza Leoni from Favorita. As a result of the collision, the scooter rider was thrown from his seat and landed violently on the asphalt. Emergency services were immediately called, and the man was taken by ambulance to the nearby Trauma Center at Villa Sofia Hospital with serious injuries and his condition is reserved prognosis. The driver of the car was unharmed. Accident investigators were also called to the scene to investigate and reconstruct the dynamics of the accident. The incident caused heavy traffic delays in the area as the vehicles were being removed from the roadway. Both vehicles were subsequently confiscated.
