Scicli Pizza Chef Dies at Modica Hospital: Family Files Complaint

The family of Pino Adamo, a well-known pizza maker in Scicli, has filed a complaint of malpractice after he died following a long wait in the emergency department of Maggiore Hospital in Modica, Italy. Adamo, who had a history of heart disease and had undergone a surgical procedure last year, suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. His medical records have been seized, and an autopsy will be conducted. The news of Adamo’s death has caused great grief in the community of Scicli, where he was remembered as a kind and always smiling individual. Another suspected case of malpractice has recently been reported in Canicattì, where 73-year-old craftsman Giuseppe Scarano Sardone died after being discharged from Palermo Polyclinic. Sardone had undergone thyroid surgery and aortic valve replacement and developed a high fever at home due to an infection. He was readmitted to the hospital but died on August 3rd. The family has also filed a complaint in this case.
