Santuzza in Palermo: Franco Cuticchio’s Spectacle

#Palermo
The Franco Cuticchio theater company will be performing the play “A Santuzza ri Palermo” on July 12 and 13 at the Kemonia Puppet Theater in Palermo. The play tells the story of young Rosalia and the plague that struck Palermo in 1624. It depicts the miraculous intervention of Santuzza, who freed the city from the disease brought by a ship from Tunis. Franco Cuticchio, a member of a historic puppeteer family, has been active in the theater since the age of five. The family theater, purchased by his father in the 1980s, has recently been reopened with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
