The coastal village of Lingua, in the municipality of Santa Marina, has been without electricity for 24 hours due to a malfunction in the Enel power system. The mayor, Domenico Arabia, immediately had technicians install a generator, but it was not enough to power the entire village. Even today, the area known as “Nero” is still without electricity. The mayor has contacted the prefecture, and with improved marine weather conditions, a ship carrying another generator has been sent to provide power to the area. Enel technicians are working to install the new generator and restore electricity to the residents of the island.
