Explain the following article briefly:
“A beautiful day outdoors was turning into a tragedy. Giusy Di Cristina, an amateur cyclist, experienced a nightmare Sunday. While riding on State Highway 113 with her Gds competition group, she fell into a pothole near the restaurant All’ Ancora in Santa Flavia. Five other companions fell on top of her. She was rescued by an ambulance and taken to Buccheri La Ferla Hospital in Palermo, where she was diagnosed with a pelvic injury. Doctors recommended a month of rest.
“It’s absurd that we have to travel on roads that are like a Swiss cheese,” said Giovanna Montesanto, a local resident. “This way, we are constantly risking our lives. The roads, without adequate maintenance, have become an obstacle course. I wish Giusy a speedy recovery and a well-deserved compensation.”
Encouraged by her husband, an amateur cyclist, Giusy Di Cristina recently joined a sports group and goes out for the usual Sunday bike ride each week. “We were leisurely riding with our usual group,” said her husband, Francesco Cangialosi, “when suddenly my wife fell into a pothole. Now she will have to be bedridden for a month. It’s an unacceptable accident. We can’t risk our lives like this.”
