Residents in Palermo clean up flowerbed turned into garbage dump using brooms and shovels. VIDEO.

Done and done: this morning (October 12th) residents of Emilio Greco Street took pallets and brooms in hand and cleaned up the median strip that has turned into an open-air dump for months now.
“It’s no longer possible – a resident of the area laments – it’s also a matter of personal hygiene, we park here every day, our children and grandchildren walk here”.

Everything came out of the flower beds: from scraps of paper to plastic and glass bottles, old clothes, dishes, bags. The presence of dumpsters doesn’t help and the plants never pruned are an excellent refuge for the uncivilized.
In recent months, during the waste emergency, the weeds themselves had caught fire after several fires were set by unknown individuals due to excessive garbage.
