Region, solution for the festive opening of the museum in Aidone and the site of Morgantina

An employee will be on duty every Sunday, assisted by unarmed security personnel from private companies: the issue of closing the museum in Aidone and the archaeological site of Morgantina on alternate Sundays is being resolved. This decision was made by the regional department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity in agreement with the director of the Archaeological Park of Morgantina and the Roman Villa of Casale in Piazza Armerina, Liboria Calascibetta. In light of the inconvenience caused to tourists and visitors by a lack of staff on weekends, a solution has been found to ensure the opening of the sites on Sundays. The employee will be responsible for ticketing, surveillance, and custody, with support from other unarmed security personnel who will be contracted. They will also provide assistance with welcoming, public information, and monitoring of the sites. The regional department is committed to promoting cultural heritage and enhancing archaeological tourism in Sicily by swiftly finding a concrete solution to allow regular access to some of the most sought-after sites by tourists and visitors.
