Ravanusa, online betting in sports association: fines of 65 thousand euros

Officials from the Customs and Monopolies Agency in Palermo, together with the operational section in Agrigento, discovered an individual betting online through a PC in a non-professional sports association in Ravanusa. It is prohibited for such associations to collect bets. They also found a foosball table for which the manager had not obtained the necessary license from the Agrigento police headquarters. All equipment was confiscated and the owner was fined over 65,000 euros in administrative penalties, in addition to being charged with unpaid entertainment tax.
