Rap in Palermo hires 106 waste collectors
Explain in brief the following article:
“We have decided to authorize the hiring of 106 waste operators who will start working within the next twenty days.” This is stated by Giuseppe Todaro, president of the board of directors of Rap, the company in Palermo that manages waste collection and disposal.
“This morning the Board of Directors met,” Todaro adds, “which approved the budget proposal and decided to hire the operators in view of the start of phase two of the separate waste collection in a wide area of the city.” The new operators, from the next few hours, will have to report to the offices to finalize the documentation, undergo medical examinations and take a short training course. “We suffer every day from the lack of personnel,” Todaro adds, “Rap’s activity is conditioned by the small size of the staff, which in 2013 could count on 2,300 operators and today has only 1,500. It is our intention to soon make the competition ranking flow and allow for another 200 hires.” Meanwhile, Rap is trying to catch up on the backlog in waste collection in recent days, which has left tons of waste on the streets.
