Ragusa approves new Terna power cable: 26 million euro investment.

The Sicilian Department of Energy and Public Utility has authorized Terna’s new underground cable power line called “SE Ragusa-CP Ragusa Nord”. The project, for which the company led by Giuseppina Di Foggia will invest around 26 million euros, involves the construction of an electrical line of over 14 kilometers between the Terna power station in Ragusa and the primary substation of Ragusa Nord owned by the local distributor.

This was announced in a statement by Terna. The project will increase the available energy capacity in Ragusa for the needs of businesses and citizens, especially during the summer period when there is a significant increase in demand in the area. The new underground connection will be made using state-of-the-art cables with XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) insulation, a reliable, resilient, and sustainable solution. In the coming weeks, the detailed design of the project will commence, along with all the preliminary activities for the opening of the construction sites.
