Protest in Messina against the bridge over the Strait

A protest against the construction of the Strait of Messina Bridge took place in Messina, Italy, with around 2000 people participating. The protest included various committees, associations, parties, unions, and over 70 organizations from across Italy. The event was also supported by social, cultural, and political figures who couldn’t physically attend but wanted to show their support. The president of the Green Party and other national and regional leaders participated in the protest. The Secretary of the Italian Left, Nicola Fratoianni, expressed his support through a Facebook post. He criticized the government’s allocation of funds for the bridge and referred to it as an expensive and unnecessary project that neglects the need for improved train infrastructure in the region.
