President Pellegrino resigns from Sicindustria Trapani
The president of Sicindustria Trapani, Vito Pellegrino, 49 years old, has resigned. The resignation follows the plea bargain of twenty months of imprisonment decided by the Gip on September 11th for the manslaughter of Nicolò Giacalone, 33 years old, an employee of his company Sud Marmi di Custonaci. Vincenzo Miceli, 59 years old, an employee of the same company, also pleaded guilty for the death of the worker, due to lack of workplace safety. “Following the premature and tragic death of Nicolò Giacalone, which has painfully marked our lives – said Pellegrino – I want to communicate that I have resigned as president of Sicindustria Trapani since last month and have chosen to dedicate all my energies to managing the company I run with my family.” Pellegrino, president since 2021, had succeeded the late Gregory Bongiorno. Sicindustria Trapani is now led by vice-president Filippo Amodeo, of the company Nino Castiglione.
