Potential closure of Catania’s industrial area Carabinieri and Fire Brigade barracks

The president of Confindustria Catania, Angelo Di Martino, has raised concerns about the possible closure of the carabinieri and fire brigade barracks in the industrial area of Catania. Di Martino emphasizes the importance of these facilities in ensuring the safety of businesses and workers in an area with over 400 companies and more than 15,000 employees. He highlights the increasing levels of theft and vandalism, as well as the frequent occurrence of fires and flooding, which significantly compromise the security of the industrial zone. Di Martino argues that keeping the fire station active is essential, especially as the area attracts new investors. He urges prompt dialogue and collaboration among all stakeholders to find solutions that address the legitimate concerns of businesses and workers.
