Porto Empedocle: 2 extortion charges for demanding money in exchange for silence

From victims to extortionists. This is a story that happened in Porto Empedocle. Two partners, he 32 and she 34, were stopped by the police while they were pocketing 150 euros. From the reconstruction, it emerged that the two had contacted a man, guilty of stealing tools from their warehouse, and extorted him: no report in exchange for a financial reward.

At that point, the victim decided to alert the authorities and thus the trap was set: at the moment of the money exchange, the police officers materialized, blocking the couple. The banknotes had been marked beforehand and were seized.

The two suspects were reported, in freedom, for extortion and, assisted by lawyer Salvatore Bruccoleri, they reject the accusations. They claim, in turn, to have been contacted by the young man and that he, aware of being discovered as the perpetrator of the theft, tried to make amends by paying the money.
