Police in Palermo calm down fight between two girls

The previous night, in via Roma and via Cagliari in Palermo, the police promptly intervened to prevent a quarrel between two girls from escalating into a brawl. The episode attracted numerous curious onlookers, but the timely intervention of the patrols restored the situation to normalcy, avoiding more serious consequences.
The police action is part of the intensified territory control services, organized according to the directives of the Minister of the Interior and the strategies of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety. These checks aim to ensure security in the most frequented areas of the city nightlife, with a constant presence of law enforcement in areas such as Vucciria, Piazza Sant’Anna, Piazza Magione, and other central areas of Palermo.
During the weekend, three inspections were carried out in as many premises to verify compliance with municipal regulations on nightlife. The owners of the establishments were found to have committed several irregularities, ranging from exceeding the allowed music entertainment limits, leading to the seizure of equipment for five days, to the lack of authorization for video surveillance, as well as cases of illegal occupation of public land.
Overall, during the control operations, 245 people were identified and 54 vehicles were checked, with 13 fines issued for violations of the Highway Code. Control operations will continue in the coming weeks as well, with the aim of ensuring safety and legality in the city’s gathering places.
