Share 33 volunteers, from 4 to 78 years old, wanted to clean up the mouth of the Akragas river in Agrigento, collecting 260 kilos of waste in just 2 hours, filling 38 bags and putting together another 40 kilos of bulky waste. Record numbers were obtained during the last day of the “Plastic Free Agrigento” project led by Alessandro Arcuri. The volunteers came from 7 locations in the province with 4 referents from Agrigento, Licata, Naro and Sciacca with the usual groups of Ravanusa, Favara and Porto Empedocle. “The thrill of seeing so many people so determined and united to respect the environment – said Alessandro Arcuri – was immense. These fantastic volunteers have collected everything: handkerchiefs and small rubbish thrown by the couples who go away in this area, admiring the splendid sunset from the mouth of the Akragas river “. And then there were the children, the absolute protagonists, who enjoyed coloring the themed signs: in total 3 installed ones that remind all those who visit these places to respect and take care of them.
