Piantedosi: First asylum seekers facility to be established in Pozzallo
The Italian Interior Minister, Matteo Piantedosi, announced the opening of the first facility for accommodating asylum seekers from safe countries, such as Tunisia, in Pozzallo, Ragusa province. The aim is to expedite the assessment procedures for refugee status within a month. Piantedosi also mentioned that there will be a Center for Identification and Expulsion (CIE) in each region, but specific locations are still being discussed.
