Pezzuto to referee Spezia-Palermo match, officiated Rosa’s win in Lecco.
Explain in short the following article:
For the second time in a few weeks, Palermo and referee Ivano Pezzuto’s paths cross: the latter, designated for tomorrow’s match (May 1st) against Spezia, had also refereed the Rosanero in the victorious away match in Lecco (0-1) on March 10th.
Palermo’s previous encounters with the referee from Lecce are balanced, as before the match at Rigamonti-Ceppi, they had obtained four draws: two 0-0, away to Sassuolo in 2014/15 and at home against Cesena in 2017/18, and two 1-1, at Barbera against Venice in 2018/19 and in Pisa in 2022/23. The relationship with penalties awarded by Pezzuto is not as positive: the Rosanero have in fact missed penalties against both the Romagnoli (with Coronado) and at Arena Garibaldi (Brunori), while in Lecco the referee was overturned by Var after considering a contact between Melgrati and Palermo’s captain foul in the area.
In the photo by Tullio Puglia, referee Pezzuto is seen at Rigamonti-Ceppi for Lecco-Palermo on March 10th.
