Pedestrian hit by a van in Barcelona, hospitalized in critical condition

A traffic warden in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto was severely injured in an accident. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. in a low-income housing area in the town. The off-duty municipal police officer, a man in his sixties, was putting some items in the trunk of his parked Fiat Croma when he was hit from behind by a Ford Transit van. The impact was strong and caused damage to two other parked cars nearby. The traffic warden suffered serious injuries, particularly to his right leg, and was stabilized by medical personnel before being transported to the hospital in critical condition.
