The meeting will be opened by the greetings of the general secretary Uil Trapani Eugenio Tumbarello and the organizing secretary Uil Sicilia Luisella Lionti. The head of Equal Opportunities Uil Trapani Antonella Parisi will moderate the interventions.

Graziella Priulla, sociologist of communication and culture, full professor of sociology of cultural and communicative processes at the University of Catania, will report on the topic; Roberta Paoletti, Eu Gender policy expert; Valeria Filì, full professor of Labor Law at the University of Udine; Vera Gheno, sociolinguist at the University of Florence.

“When gender equality is mentioned – affirms the manager Antonella Parisi – there are those who imagine distant times when women took to the streets to ask for their rights. Yet there is still talk of gender gap, a very topical issue because it certainly cannot be said that the battle for the conquest of gender equality is over. It has always been going on and will continue to go on for a long time. At the current pace of progress, the World Economic Forum estimates that it will take 135 years to completely close the gender gap. The Covid crisis 19 among the many inequalities it has highlighted, has certainly put before the eyes of all those between women and men. As a trade union, like Uil we have this issue very close to our heart and we are convinced that it is necessary to work together, women and men, in order to finally be able to play on equal terms. This is why even with initiatives like this we try to understand where and how we can promote change and make a real difference ”.
