Palermo’s Poste Italiane unveils mega solar plant, to generate one million kilowatts

Italian Post has inaugurated the largest solar power plant in operation in Italy, with a production capacity of over one million kilowatts. The plant consists of 2,288 photovoltaic panels, each with a power of 375 watts, covering an area of six thousand square meters. It also includes eight inverters, each with a capacity of 110 kilowatts, installed in a technical room for the conversion from direct current to alternating current. The project is part of Italian Post’s efforts to achieve zero net carbon emissions by 2030. The mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla, attended the inauguration and praised Italian Post’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Pierluigi Perretta, the head of Sicilian Real Estate at Italian Post, emphasized the importance of taking concrete actions to improve the environment and called for similar initiatives to be implemented by other companies.
