Palermo’s Confiscated Property in Brancaccio to House Polyclinic Honoring Don Puglisi

In a building confiscated from the mafia, next to the center dedicated to Father Pino Puglisi, in the Brancaccio district of Palermo, an outpatient clinic will be built in memory of the blessed priest who was killed by the mafia 30 years ago. The project was presented in the Chamber of Deputies in Rome. The clinics, which will be free for residents of Brancaccio, will focus on cardiovascular diseases, urology, gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, and general surgery. The project is supported by the Italian hospital group “Gvm Care & Research”. The aim is to provide healthcare services to the community and fulfill one of Father Puglisi’s dreams of bringing health to the people. The initiative is seen as a symbol of social revitalization, reclaiming a confiscated property from the mafia and offering hope for the community.
