Palermo woman discovers serious heart condition during Asp open day screening
An asymptomatic user with no specific cardiovascular risk factors discovered that he had an “aneurysmal dilatation of the aorta” while participating in one of the itinerant Open days organized by the ASP of Palermo. Cardiologist Giovanni Ferro emphasized the importance of prevention with widespread distribution in the territory, as he diagnosed the condition after conducting a visit, ECG, and echocardiogram. The user, along with others who test positive in screenings, was referred to a second-level diagnostic pathway within the structures of the local health service.
The itinerant Open day activity will continue next Wednesday, May 29th, in Giardinello, where the “health village” will be set up on Aldo Moro street.
